Vihtavuori N540 Powder

The name “Vihtavuori” is synonymous with first-rate, consistently high-quality products, and that includes their reloading powders. For over eighty years, Vihtavuori has produced a wide variety of propellants to meet a wide variety of requirements. The nitro-cellulose used in all Vihtavuori powders is made in-house from cotton linters.

Vihtavuori N540 is a versatile hunting and target shooting rifle powder that works with a wide range of medium-sized calibers. It works wonderfully with heavy bullets from.223/5.56 mm to.308 Winchester and 30-06 Springfield. Vihtavuori N540 provides unmatched precision and clean combustion. As a result of the higher energy content present in all N500 series powders compared to their N100 Vihtavuori counterparts, it is possible to achieve velocities up to 30–40 m/s higher at the same pressure level.

When using heavier bullets and when greater loading densities and muzzle velocities are required, giving this a shot is a no-brainer. N540 meters well in reloading equipment and makes loading incredibly simple because of its perfectly symmetrical dimensions (1 mm in length and 1 mm in diameter).
