You may say that Hodgdon H4831 has killed more big game than any other powder. In 1950, Hodgdon pioneered the introduction of this widely adopted burning rate. Since then, it has become a go-to for popular cartridges including the 270 Winchester, 25-06 Remington, 280 Remington, and 300 Winchester Magnum.
It has the same excellent homogeneity from lot to lot and resistance to hot and cold temperatures that is typical of Extreme Extruded propellant.
As an Extreme Extruded propellant, it possesses the admirable trait of being indifferent to both high and low temperatures, in addition to having excellent homogeneity from one batch to the next.
